Honey? What? Where's my super suit?

What?
Where - is - my - super - suit?
I, uh, put it away.
*Where*?
*Why* do you *need* to know?
I need it!
Okay, I am a big blogging slacker, I know.  So, we are going to do a lot of updates!  First, I have to show off my cute nieces and nephews and their awesome trampoline tricks that I was able to take with my sweet camera.

This is little Katrina.  She doesn't do any tricks, unless you count almost running off the side during "Duck Duck Goose".  Scary.
Haylee-she is probably going to be a cheerleader someday.
Gaven-he has some pretty hilarious tricks.
Here's Gaven doing a flip while holding a basketball.
Jack doing his "twisty" move.  He never lands this one the same.
I thought this photo turned out so cool.  Jack is floating...but I'm thinking the landing wasn't pretty.
Here's Katrina again.  We had a good time together.
Adrianna bouncing Haylee as high as she could.  She was way better at this than I was.  And it looks like Jack got a little ride out of it too.  Good times!  It was so fun to visit with Mike and Jen, their kids and of course, my sisters.  And that leads me to my next post:  The 2nd Annual Sister Party.

Saw the whole thing, dude. First you were all like "whoa", and we were like "whoa", and you were like "whoa..."

I decided at the end of last year that I am going to become a runner.  I decided this for a couple of reasons: here they are.
1. It's good for your whole body.
2. It's free-no gym membership, no DVDs (or the annoyingly perky women on them), and no equipment necessary (except good shoes).
3. I want to lose some weight and tone my muscles.
So, I started running with my dogs in Ajo.  We did a nice little loop that was about 2 miles, but I walked the first part of it so the dogs would get tired and behave for the rest of the run.  And, while I was not fast AT ALL, I really started to enjoy it.  But then it got hot and I moved and we went on vacation after vacation, and I didn't run for about 6 weeks.  And then, on July 5th, I decided I would run a 5K with my sisters and brother in law.  Whoa.  Kind of a bad idea.  Not only had I never run that far; but I was used to running at a much lower altitude than Northern Utah.  But, I finished, and I plan to do another one this Fall when it's cooler weather.  My sisters did awesome, by the way, and so did Nate.  Pics to prove:

Look how cheerful I was!  I did not look like that at the end.  I looked like I was going to puke.

Waiting for the race to start.

The start.

Char-finishing FIRST in her age group and THIRD overall for the women.  She is a little speedy Gonzales.  If only she had realized this talent in high school.  She always wanted to do some sort of sport.  The cross country and track teams would have loved her.

Adrianna got FOURTH in her age group.  This was also her first 5K I believe.
Here's me finishing.  I don't want to talk about what place I took.  I was just glad I finished.

Nate took third in his age group.  Char and Susan are making the excited faces that the little kids were making when they got their ribbons.
Here's a little better picture.  I don't think I will be winning any ribbons ever, but it was fun.

My Little Adventure

Nicola suggested in her last post that I share my little adventure from the reunion with her family a few weeks ago. It all began when I thought it would be fun to bring horses camping. For the record, it was fun. As you can see in the photo below Katrina thought it was a blast to ride the horse.

All the little nieces and nephews had a great time taking turns riding the horses.

I took three horses up, but they were all barefoot and after a day and a half of riding, the paint stallion I was riding started to get a little sore on his front feet. I figured I'd run down the canyon and switch him out with the paint gelding even though I knew the paint gelding had a history of bucking and falling over on me. I was able to rode him up the canyon without any problems until I got to the camp. We had to walk through the campground to get from the trail where I was to the hitching post where the other horses were tied up.

The gelding is afraid of everything, so he didn't want to go through the camp. He started bucking, and at one point I thought he was falling over, so I kicked my feet out of the stirrup, but he didn't go down. He just kept bucking. When he finished, I got off, led him through the camp to the hitching post, then back to the trail. I mounted up so I could now ride him through the campground, but he threw a fit again. In the process of jumping and bucking he hit my face with his head which cracked open the outside of my right eyesocket. Then he fell over on me. This time I did not get my feet out of the stirrup first. So I ended up with a sprained pelvis, 10 stitches around my eye, and a pulled and bruised groin muscles.

Oh yeah, I had a bit of a black eye and some stitches visible in the family photos that Nicola shared belos, so we're going to get our photos taken again tomorrow.

Annie: Do you like kids? Jack: On a case-by-case basis.

Annie: Do you know how to make chocolate milk?
Jack: I think I could figure it out.
Annie: Promise you won't kidnap me and my brother and plant stuff in our brains?
Jack: Sure.
Annie: Welcome to earth.

This movie is hilarious. Audra, do you know which one it is? So we had our family reunion last week for my side of the family. More on that later; Josh should really do a post about his little adventure. This is just a preview of our family pictures. There are A LOT of photos, these are just a few. BIG THANK YOU to Josh's cousin Sarah for taking them. She is like the best, so nice and easy to work with. Anyway, these are mostly for the benefit of my family, who hasn't seen these yet.

Of course not, Mother; I'm only here for the food.

Classic line; I love it.  So, anyway, I have been contemplating doing this for a while.  I really like to cook and bake, and I love it when people share recipes with me.  So.......TA DA!  I created a recipe blog.   The address is:
http://youareonlyhereforthefood.blogspot.com/

And I promise to post one recipe a week.  Hmmm, promise is such a strong word.  I promise to TRY to post one recipe a week.  And to start it all off, I will post my favorite recipe of all time: my Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Here's a picture, but you'll have to go to my new blog to get the recipe.
I have also re-posted all of the recipes I listed on this blog.  So let me know what you think please!  And who knows what movie this line comes from?
